LDS Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Ever had a child floor you with their apparently unintended wit and outrageous comments? It happens to me ALL the time! I can't get enough of it, and I think these laugh-out-loud moments should be shared! I want to hear about the funny things your children or primary kids say! Spread the joy.

From Primary

On my first day of primary, sharing time involved all the kids following the teacher and sitting at different points in the room while they talked about a different prophet at each stop. This one little girl, a sunbeam, saw an opportunity to run for the mike. One of the primary presidency said, "Oh, but don't you want to follow the prophet?" And she screamed into the mike, "But I don't WANT to follow the prophet!!!"

We were talking about the Plan of Salvation, and asked "Does anyone know what council means?" and a sunbeam jumped up and down saying, "I do! It means that the real meaning of Christmas is all about candy canes."

That same day the kids were asked if they knew why we were sent to earth. A girl, probably around 5 or 6, said "He sent us to DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE" (and she threw back her head while she said the last word, all dramatic-like.)

One little boy was giving the prayer after his talk, with his mom helping him. She whispered into his ear, "Please help us to feel the spirit," and instead he said, "Please help us to fear the spirit."

A boy in CTR 8 was reading Moses 1:39, and he said "For behold, this is my work and my glory — to bring to pass the immorality and eternal life of man."

During the primary presentation, the sunbeams were up, and this one little girl, bless her heart, said her line perfectly with a little addition .... "My body is a temple and I'm going to marry my mommy."

Last year, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, one of my counselors, as part of her sharing time, held up a picture of the nativity scene. She talked about Mary and Jesus and love, then she asked what holiday came after Thanksgiving, a boy yelled out "BLACK FRIDAY"
